Lone Jack Football played at Sweet Springs this Friday and won in strong fashion winning 47-6. Quarterback Bryan Moore had a strong showing recovering from strep throat with a rushing touchdown and three passing touchdowns to Jake Suhr, Christian Phelps, and Skylar Overlander. Bryan Moore finished with 26 yards rushing and 77 yards passing. Rushing was led by Joey Rains with 2 rushing touchdowns and 82 yards on 10 carries, followed by Dalton Shahan with one rushing touchdown and 72 yards on 8 carries. Defense was led by Devin Smith with three interceptions. Next game is this Friday September 16th when we are on the road against one of the top teams in state in Concordia. Lone Jack Cross Country (XC) team had a meet at Holden this past Saturday. The XC team ran well. The girls team had two strong finishes with Megan Wallace getting first place and Abby Altman getting 10th. The boys team alson ran well. Leading the team was Cole Shope at 9th, followed by Aaron Feehan at 12th, and Drake Hammack ran beautifully at his first varsity meet as a freshman getting 17th.
