Park Hill South was able to withstand a rally from Blue Springs 49-44 in the American Family Insurance Holiday Classic at William Jewell College.
The game was tight in the first quarter as Park Hill South went into halftime with a 21-17 lead.
Park Hill South increased their lead to 8 heading into the third quarter only to see Blue Springs tie things up with under three minutes to play.
Hudson Welty who led the Panthers with 18 hit a clutch basket and Park Hill South was able to convert from the free throw line to pull away.
Blue Springs was led by Walter Sorrells who scored 11 points.
Park Hill South advances to play the winner of Liberty North and Smithville for the Cardinal Division Championship tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
