Smithville upsets Hogan Prep in Jewell Tournament 12/27/12

The Smithville Warriors upset the number four seed of the Cardinal Division Hogan Prep 65-56 at the American Family Insurance Holiday Classic at William Jewell College.

Smithville's second half defense was the key as the Warriors held the rams to 29 percent shooting in the second half. 

The Warriors had three player score in double figures with Cory Marmet leading the way with 22 points.  Brock Mick contributed 21 and Derek Howe added 13.

Antoine Stanley scored 20 points for Hogan Prep and Daven Hullaby scored 12.

Smithville will face the top seed Liberty North on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

    I posted this earlier saying that Smithville had upset Liberty North. That was an error. They face Liberty North tomorrow.
