The Blue Springs South Jaguars got by the St. Joseph Central Indians 64-56 in game three of the Nelson Division in the American Family Insurance Holiday Classic at William Jewell College on Wednesday.
The Jaguars outscored the Indians 18-12 in both the first and second quarters respectively to lead by six at the half. The Jaguars held the Indians to 31.6 percent from the field in the first half.
The Indians improved to 54.5 percent shooting in the second half and were able to close the gap but it would not be enough as Blue Springs South held on for the win.
Kevin Puryear led the Jaguars with 22 points and Carl Martin pitched in 12.
Shaun Williams paced the Indians with 22 points and 11 boards.
Blue Springs will now advance to face Pleasant Hill on Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
