MVC MEN'S VOLLEYBALL TEAM TAKES DOWN NO. 6 GRANDVIEW UNIVERSITY
Marshall, Mo. (January 29, 2013)- The No. 8 Missouri Valley College Vikings men's volleyball team hosted No. 6 Grandview University in a conference match-up at Burns Athletics Complex. The Vikings won 3-1 for the first conference win of the season.
The Missouri Valley Viking men's volleyball teams struggled to find a rhythm in game one, but were able to hold composure in the final three games to take the victory 21-25, 25-22, 25-16, and 25-22
Junior Outside Hitter Peterson Silva (Nova Era, Brazil) finished with 15 kills and 11 digs, while Junior Middle Blocker Jake Haar (La Mesa, Calif.) had 11 kills, and seven blocks. Freshman Outside Hitter Stan Bosovick (Chernivtsi, Ukraine) contributed 10 kills and five blocks. Junior Setter Will McCracken (Goleta, Calif.) had 46 assists and Freshman Libero Victor Magalhaes (Contagem, Brazil) finished with 12 digs.
The win improves the Vikings to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in MAMVIC play. Grandview University drops to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in conference. The Vikings will be in action again Thursday as they travel to Parkville, Mo. to face No. 1 Park University. Start time is set for 7pm.
