William Jewell Women's Baksetball

The William Jewell College women's basketball team fell 65-56 to Lewis University in Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Thursday in Romeoville, Ill.  The loss drops the Cardinals to 7-4 overall and 1-2 in GLVC play.  Lewis moves to 9-2 and 2-1 on the season. 

The Flyers used a strong first half performance to aid them in the victory.  The Flyers shot 54.8 percent in the first half and led 42-29 going into the break.

Jewell actually outscored Lewis 27-23 in the second half but their field goal percentage ended up being their downfall as the Cards only shot 28.4 percent from the field for the contest.

Jewell was led by senior Katlyn Wood who scored 13 points and pulled down 9 rebounds.  Rosa Hof scored 10 points and collected five rebounds.  

The Cardinals will head to Kenosha, Wis., to take on the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
