William Jewell Women's Basketball

The William Jewell College women's basketball team won their second straight Great Lakes Valley Conference road tilt on Saturday, defeating Quincy University 79-55 in Quincy, Ill.


Chelsea Meeks led five Cards in double figures with 19 points, four rebounds and four steals, hitting 7-of-13 field goals. Rosa Hoff, Jesse Wheeler, Katlyn Wood, and Cassy Nicolay scored 15, 14, 10 and 10 points respectively. 

Jewell (11-6, 5-4 GLVC) shot 48.4 percent from the field, including 11-of-27 from 3-point range and 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Quincy finished at 41.9 percent shooting, including 4-of-15 from behind the arc and 15-of-18 from the charity stripe.

The Hawks (9-8, 7-2 GLVC) were led by Hannah Weedman who scored 17 points and pulled down 7 rebounds. 

The Cardinals return home for another GLVC contest as they host Drury University on Thursday January 31 at 5:30 p.m.
