The match featured a 7 point format and the team which held the advantage in doubles was awarded only one point.
Opening with doubles action, Jewell got off to a great start when sophomore Jimmy Hunter and junior Michael Wiskirchen pulled out an 8-5. Omaha would take the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches 8-7 and 8-5 respectively to earn the doubles point.
Junior Shane Giannetti was the lone point for the Cardinals as he battled to a 6-4, 2-6, 11-9, victory in the No. 1 singles spot. Senior Bronson Brassel and first-year player Michael Rawat nearly took their matches to three sets but fell 3-6, 6-7, and 5-7, 5-7 in the No.3 and No. 4 singles spot respectively.
The Cardinals 0-1 on the spring season, continue their weekend swing in Nebraska with a pair of matches in Lincoln on Saturday. The Cards take on Nebraska Wesleyan University at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 12:00 p.m. contest against Bethel College.
