MVC MENS VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS LINDENWOOD-BELLEVILLE SATURDAY

Marshall, Mo. (March 2, 2013)- The No. 9 Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team defeated Lindenwood-Belleville 3-0 for the second time this week. The Vikings were victorious on Thursday when they played in Belleville, Ill.

The Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team never trailed any set during the win Saturday. The Vikings came out strong in game one, and carried that momentum to games two and three to take the victory 25-7, 25-14, and 25-13.

Junior Outside Hitter Peterson Silva (Nova Era, Brazil) finished with seven kills, while Junior Middle Blocker Jacob Haar (La Mesa, Calif.) had eight kills, four blocks, and a .636 attack percentage on the day. Senior Aaron Robinson (Waianae, Hawaii) finished with seven digs. Freshman Libero Victor Magelhaes (Contagem, Brazil) contributed six digs and Junior Setter Will McCracken (Goleta, Calif.) had 19 assists and seven digs. The Vikings hit a .500 attack percentage for the match.

The win improves the Vikings to 10-4 overall and 3-3 in MAMVIC play. Lindenwood-Belleville drops to 0-2 overall. The Vikings will be in action again March 5 when they travel to St. Louis, Mo. to take on Missouri Baptist University in a conference match-up. The game is set for 7pm.
