MVC GOLF TEAMS COMPETE AT WILLIAM WOODS SPRING INVITATIONAL

 

Marshall, Mo. (April 3, 2013)-  The Missouri Valley College men's and women's golf teams competed Monday and Tuesday at the William Woods Spring Invitational in Fulton, Mo.

 

The Viking men's golf team finished in ninth place out of 11 teams, and the Lady Vikings ended the tournament in tenth place.

 

Leading the way for the men's golf team were Junior Josh Coletti (Nelson, British Columbia Canada) and Freshman Travis Chorley (Jasper, Canada) both finishing in a tie for No. 29 shooting a two-round total of +11 (155).  Top performer on the women's side was Freshman Crystan Shaffer (Lake Ozark, Mo.), who shot a two-day total of +72 (216) finishing in No 46.

 

The MVC men's golf team shot a combined score of +53 (629).  The Lady Vikings finished with a team score of +329 (905).  The champion men's team was William Woods University, shooting a -2 (574) and the women's champion team was also William Woods shooting a +36 (612).

 

The MVC golf teams will be in action again April 8-9 as they host the MVC Spring Invitational at Indian Foothills Golf Course.
