MVC WOMEN'S WRESTLING STARTS SEASON RANKED NO. 5
Marshall, Mo. (October 23, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team will begin its season as the No. 5 ranked team in the Women's College Wrestling Association Poll. The Vikings are tied for the No. 5 spot with the University of Jamestown (N.D.) while King (Tenn.) College begins the women's wrestling season ranked No. 1.
The Vikings also start the season with five individuals ranked in their respective weight classes. Those ranked for MVC include:
Freshman Paulina Biega (Gizycko, Poland) who is ranked No. 8 at 101 pounds, Sophomore Christina Bautista (El Paso, Texas) who is ranked No. 7 at 109 pounds, Junior Jacarra Winchester (San Leandro, Calif.) who is ranked No. 2 at 123 pounds, Senior Frances Efiong (Arlington, Texas) who is ranked No. 7 at 143 pounds and Senior Brittany Jones (Grapevine, Texas) who is ranked No. 6 at 170 pounds.
The No. 5 Vikings opened their season with the Lindenwood Triangular earlier this month. MVC will be in action Friday and Saturday at the Oklahoma City University Duals in Oklahoma City, Okla.
