MVC MEN’S VOLLEYBALL TEAM DROPS CONFERENCE MATCHUP TO MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY

MVC MEN'S VOLLEYBALL TEAM DROPS CONFERENCE MATCHUP TO MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY

Marshall, Mo. (January 21, 2013)- The No. 8 Missouri Valley College Vikings men's volleyball team dropped their first home match of the season to No. 7 Missouri Baptist University 3-1 on Monday night. 

The Missouri Valley Viking men's volleyball team was down early, and fought back in the second game but was defeated by Missouri Baptist in a 23-25, 25-19, 18-25, 19-25 match at Burns Athletics Center.  

Junior Outside Hitter Peterson Silva (Nova Era, Brazil) finished with 18 kills, 12 digs, and two blocks. Freshman Outside Hitter Stan Bosovik (Chernivtsi, Ukraine) who finished with 11 kills and two blocks, while Junior Middle Blocker Jake Haar (La Mesa, Calif.) had eight kills. Freshman Libero Victor Magalhaes contributed 11 digs and Junior Setter Will McCracken (Goleta, Calif.) had 32 assists.

The loss drops the Vikings to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in MAMVIC play. Missouri Baptist improves to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference.  The Vikings will be in action again Thursday and Friday when they travel to Davenport, Iowa for the St. Ambrose Tournament.
