MVC WOMEN'S WRESTLING TEAM RANKED NO. 6 IN LATEST WCWA POLL
Marshall, Mo. (January 21, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team comes in ranked at No. 6 in the latest Women's College Wrestling Association Poll. MVC also has eight wrestlers ranked individually in seven different weight classes. The Lady Vikings are coming off a fourth place showing at the NWCA National Duals earlier this month.
The No. 1 team in the poll is Simon Fraser, with Oklahoma City University in at No. 2, King (Tenn.) College at No. 3, with Jamestown (N.D.) in at No. 4 and Lindenwood (Mo.) University ahead of the Lady Vikings at No. 5.
Individually for the Lady Vikings Freshman Dalina Vuong (Arlington, Texas) checks in at No. 10 at 101 pounds, Sophomore Jacarra Winchester (San Leandro, Calif.) is No. 2 at 116 pounds, Junior Brittany Faust (Saxonburg, Mo.) sits at No. 3 in the 123 pound weight class, and Junior Randi Beltz (Chesterfield, Mo.) is ranked No. 3 at 130 pounds. At 143 pounds Junior Frances Efiong (Arlington, Texas) comes in at No. 7, Senior Jordan Hagerman (Nevada, Mo.) is ranked No. 10 at 170 pounds, and in the 191 pound weight class Junior Brittany Jones (Grapevine, Texas) is ranked No. 8 with Senior Tamara Hartfield (Killeen, Texas) ranked at No. 10.
The Lady Vikings will next be in action over the weekend at the WCWA Nationals in Bristol, Tenn. Jan. 25-26.
