The William Jewell College men's basketball team fell 80-61 to University of Indianapolis in its Great Lakes Valley Conference opener on Thursday in Liberty, Mo.
With the win, UIndy improves to 9-0 overall and 1-0 in the GLVC, while Jewell falls to 4-5 and 0-1 in the conference.
Sophomore Dillon Deck (Smithville, Mo.) led the Cardinals with 18 points and 7 rebounds Raiders and first-year player Dwight Sistrunk, Jr. (Des Moines, Iowa) chipped in with 12 points and 6 assists.
The Greyhounds began the game on a 19-4 run and never looked back. James Hollowell hit a three as time expired in the first half to give UIndy a 39-21 lead at the half.
Hollowell, who would go on to score a game high 24 hit two consecutive threes to start the second half of play.
The closest the Cards got in the second half was 15 points as the Greyhounds answered each run.
The Cardinals host St. Joseph's College on Saturday at the Mabee Center in Liberty, Mo., with tipoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
