William Jewell Men's Basketball

The William Jewell Cardinals dropped a 72-55 contest to the Drury University Panthers in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest on Thursday evening at the Mabee Center.

The Cardinals were able to keep things close in the first half shooting 47.4 percent from the field and only trailed by three 34-31 going into halftime. 

In the second half, the Panthers led 37-36 before going on 13-2 run over the span of five minutes and Jewell was never able to recover. 

Drury moves to 14-4 overall and 8-2 in the GLVC Western Division while the Cardinals fall to 8-10 overall and 4-6 in the GLVC. 

Andrew Scofield was the top scorer for Jewell with 14.  Ricky Tisdale added 13 and Dillon Deck tossed in 11. 

Teddy Simniok paced five Panthers in double-figures with 15 points.

The Cardinals will travel to Rolla, Mo., on Saturday to take on Missouri S&T with the tip-off slated for 5:00 p.m.
