Senior Katlyn Wood provided big spark in the first half as she drained a three-point basket as time expired to put the Cards up 32-30 at halftime.
The Cardinals (16-9, 10-7 GLVC) used the three-point shot to put the game away in the second half. The Cards shot 5-11 from behind the arc and were 9-20 for the game. The Miners (14-11, 9-6) struggled from the field in the second half hitting only 23.7 percent of their shots.
The Cards were led by four players in double figures as junior Chelsea Meeks led all scores with 16. Wood netted 15, Aerial Smith pitched in 13 and Kelsey Nickerson came off the bench to score 12 hitting four of six three-point shots.
The Miners were led Haliee Parks who scored 12.
Jewell will travel to Rockhurst to take on the Hawks Thursday, February 28 with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
