MVC MEN'S WRESTLING RANKED NO. 8 IN FINAL COACHES' POLL

 

Marshall, Mo. (March 11, 2013)-  The Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team finishes the 2012-2013 season as the No. 8 ranked team in the final NAIA Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Poll released Monday.  The Vikings finished in eighth place in team standings at the NAIA National Tournament held in early March in Des Moines, Iowa.  The Vikings had four all-Americans; Junior Carl Lawrence (Sullivan, Mo.) who finished second in the 197 pound weight class, Freshman Jake Ekster (Houston, Texas) who finished third in the 149 pound weight class, Junior Josh Manu (North Providence, R.I.) who finished sixth in the 197 pound weight class, and Senior James Alter (Kirksville, Mo.) who finished eighth at 285 pounds.  Those four are also the only four Vikings to finish the season ranked in their individual weight classes.
