MVC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ENTERS SEASON RANKED
Marshall, Mo. (August 29, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College men's cross country team will enter the 2013 season as the No. 24 team in the NAIA Men's Cross Country Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll. This is the first time the Vikings have been ranked in the Coaches' Poll.
The Vikings never reached the Top 25 during the 2012 season, but were in the "others receiving votes" category in the final regular season poll last season.
"Team Captain Will Lee, and the other upper classmen worked hard this summer to get the team motivated and ready for the season," said Head Coach Nathan Christianson. "This is a good group of experienced guys and newcomers that have the potential to do something special if they work hard and stay focused."
The Vikings are the only Heart of America Athletic Conference team in the top 25, with Central Methodist University in the "others receiving votes" category.
The Vikings open the 2013 season by competing at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. for the University of Missouri Open Friday at 5:30 p.m.
