MVC WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PICKS UP ROAD WIN THURSDAY

 

 

Marshall, Mo. (September 19, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College women's volleyball team went to Des Moines, Iowa Thursday evening for a non-conference match with AIB College of Business.  The Vikings cruised to a 25-13, 25-15, 25-22 victory.

 

The Vikings were led in the victory by Junior Outside Hitter Rebecca Jones (Simi Valley, Calif.) with 12 kills and Senior Middle Blocker Jada Hollinshead (Tunnel Hill, Ill.) with 10 kills.  Senior Libero Diane Dellasalla (Houston, Texas) finished with 11 digs and Senior Setter Tarrah Sweet (Roswell, N.M.) had 38 assists and four digs.

 

The Vikings as a team finished with a .340 hitting percentage, and had a total of 50 digs.  Meanwhile, AIB finished with a hitting percentage of .058.

 

The win improves MVC to 11-1 overall while AIB drops to 3-17.

 

The Vikings will next host Central Methodist University in a Heart of America Athletic Conference matchup Friday Sept. 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Burns Athletic Complex.
