VIKING FOOTBALL TEAM MOVES UP TWO SPOTS IN COACHES' POLL
Marshall, Mo. (October 7, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College football team continues its climb up the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The latest poll released Monday has the Vikings up two spots to the No. 6 ranking.
The new ranking comes on the heels of defeating Central Methodist University Saturday at Gregg-Mitchell Field 48-17. The win improved the Vikings to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Also, this week's ranking makes it 95 consecutive polls in which the Vikings have been ranked, the second longest current streak in the NAIA.
Other HAAC schools ranked this week include Benedictine College at No. 5, Baker University at No. 11 and Peru State College at No. 19. Also, non-conference opponent Ottawa University is ranked No. 8 in this week's poll.
The Vikings will travel to Lamoni, Iowa for a HAAC matchup with Graceland University Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Graceland enters the game with an overall record of 1-4 and a 0-3 record in the HAAC.
