MVC GOLF TEAMS COMPETE AT MVC FALL INVITATIONAL
Marshall, Mo. (October 8, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's golf teams hosted the MVC Fall Invitational at Indian Hills Golf Course in Marshall, Mo. Monday and Tuesday. The men's team took third place, while the Lady Vikings placed No. 6.
The men's team shot a two-day total of 619 which came in one shot short of second place Central Methodist University and six shots short of team champion Baker University. Top golfer for the Vikings was Sophomore Travis Chorley (Alberta, Canada) who placed second overall as an individual with a two-day total of 150 (+6), just two shots back of the champion Ty Lieberman of Central Methodist University who shot a 148 (+4).
The women's team shot a two-day total of 825, while the team champion, Baker University shot a 722. The top individual for MVC was Freshman Clarissa Molina (McCamey, Texas) who shot a 178 (+34) finishing 23 strokes back of the individual champion from Baker University Lindsey Mateer.
The men's and women's golf teams will be back in action Oct. 14-15 at the Columbia College Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
