VIKING FOOTBALL TEAM REMAINS #6 IN LATEST COACHES' POLL
Marshall, Mo. (October 14, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College football team remains in the same spot as last week in the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The latest poll released Monday has the Vikings sitting at the No. 6 ranking.
The ranking comes after a win over Heart of America Athletic Conference opponent Graceland University by a 35-7 final score. The win improved the Vikings to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the HAAC. Also, this week's ranking makes it 96 consecutive polls in which the Vikings have been ranked, the second longest current streak in the NAIA.
Other HAAC schools ranked this week include Benedictine College at No. 5, Baker University at No. 10 and Peru State College at No. 16. Non-conference opponent Ottawa University is ranked No. 8 in this week's poll.
Homecoming is set for this Saturday as the Vikings welcome in Evangel University for a HAAC matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Gregg-Mitchell Field. Evangel enters the game with an overall record of 2-3 and a 2-2 record in the HAAC.
