MVC MEN'S GOLF TEAM PLACES FIFTH AT TOURNAMENT
Marshall, Mo. (September 17, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College men's golf team went on the road this week to compete at the Mike Lalaeff Memorial Invite in Hammond, Ind. The men's team finished in fifth place out of 16 teams competing.
Top finisher for the Vikings was Freshman Cody Stevens (Dexter, Mo.) who shot a two-round score of 158 (+14), good enough for a tie for No. 16 in the individual standings. Stevens shot 79 (+7) in each round. Also finishing in the top 20 for MVC was Freshman Caleb Abalos (Springfield, Mo.) who shot a two-round total of 159 (+15), which placed him in a tie for No. 19
As a team the Vikings shot 638 in the tournament finishing 37-strokes behind Invite champion Saint Xavier.
Up next for the men's and women's golf teams is the Central Methodist University Invitational in Boonville, Mo. Sept. 25-26.
